Ceramist Christina Schou Christensen has reimagined the traditional ceramics and experimented with a medium that gave her variable results. Christensen uses glaze which has highly viscous properties and gives its form. The crucial process involves the right viscosity of the glaze, the firing tools, the stoneware that holds the fluid, and the right temperature of the kiln, setting certain parameters for the interaction of the materials. The melting point of the glaze also determines the folds or form of the shaping fluid, creating each piece that is unique. Christina is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
