There has been a handful of cities around the globe that were blocked off from maps until this last century. Private residential areas, quarries, and plantations from Qatar, Algeria, Chile, Siberia, and Argentina all cast traces of occupied settlements or a once progressing community but are now in decline due to limited resources or political conflicts. Closed Cities is a series of photographs from these abandoned cities collected by Gregor Sailer.
